APRIL NEWS

A hint of warmth in the air, longer days, and the sound of birds returning from their winter retreat, have given most all of us a case of Spring Fever! As the ground begins to waken after a long winter nap we see the first buds on trees and the land turns green making us crave crisp, fresh, and flavorful produce! The first Featured Business in our ongoing series is the Homedale Farmers’ Market.
Not only does this non-profit organization seek to enhance the business success of our region’s small farms, chefs, and artisans by providing some of the lowest vending fees in the state, they donate these fees back to the Homedale School District to support the art programs. That is something no other market does in the state of Idaho! Read More…

The Homedale Ministerial Association is making a switch this year in the long standing tradition of the Homedale Holy Week Luncheons started many years ago by First Presbyterian Church of Homedale. In recognizing current trends in society and in our churches along with our continued desire to connect with the members of the different churches in our community, members of the Homedale Ministerial Association made the decision to change things up a bit. Instead of offering a whole week of meals, the Homedale Ministerial Association is instead only sponsoring one lunch this year, on Good Friday.

The lunch will be served from 11:45 am – 1:15 pm at Homedale Friends Community Church, with a time of worship including music, prayer, and a message beginning at approximately 12:25 pm. The community is invited to come and enjoy soup, salad, bread and desserts, the worship service, and the opportunity to connect with friends. The extra time allows for people to come early to begin eating, and to linger after the time of worship is over to visit. If you have any questions please contact Luke Ankeny at 208-337-3464 or luke.ankeny@gmail.com. Donations for the meal will be accepted.

Win a tiny house and support two amazing organizations, Metro Community Services & COSSA!

Designed by Brian Crabb, lead designer for FYI Television Network‘s “Tiny House Nation,” and constructed by students at the Canyon-Owyhee School Service Agency (COSSA), the goal of Project Tiny House is to provide educational opportunities for students (grades 7-12) by building a tiny house from start to finish, and giving the students an opportunity to give back to senior citizens in their communities.

The tiny house will be raffled off on May 4, 2017, at Metro Meals on Wheels‘ annual Culinary WalkAbout event at Boise Centre.
