Open Enrollment For Health Insurance starts on November 1st.Open enrollment is the term used for the time of year when all Idaho residents can shop for and change any insurance policies they have.  It is also a good time for those who don’t have insurance to become insured. Each year insurance companies change some policies and the monthly premium amount for those policies so Open Enrollment is the time to meet with a knowledgeable and honest Health Insurance Agent to go over what will be available for 2020. Open Enrollment Our agents are highly trained and can help you navigate through the confusing insurance market.  It does not cost you anything to consult with an insurance agent.  Insurers of Idaho can also help you apply with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) for something called an Advanced Premium Tax Credit (APTC).  You may qualify for this based on household income.  The APTC is then used to lower your monthly premium with the insurance carriers. Contact us today!  We are happy to help! Brian & Kim Ashliman5660 E. Helping Homedale Incentive Program 2019

Helping Homedale Business Matching Funds Program Sponsored by the Homedale Chamber of Commerce

Project Fact Sheet

What is Helping Homedale?

The Homedale Chamber of Commerce Helping Homedale project is a summer long program created to help local Homedale businesses spruce up their storefronts!  Most economic development professionals and downtown revitalization experts feel that expenditures for facelifts of their downtown businesses is money well spent and a critical part of a vital business community.  Together let’s beautify our downtown corridor!

Who is participating?

This project is open to any Homedale business or commercial property owner within the Homedale city limits.  It is not a requirement to be a Homedale Chamber of Commerce member to participate.

What types of improvements qualify?

Eligible improvements should be limited to storefront or façade improvements including paint, signage, new windows, doors, and awnings.  They can also include landscaping such as flower pots, hanging baskets, plant material and bark for flower beds, etc.  Although pre-approval is not required, it is highly recommended that any questions regarding eligible expenses be answered by the Committee prior to you spending money towards the project.

How does it work?

Helping Homedale sponsored by the Homedale Chamber of Commerce will provide matching funds of $0.50 for every $1.00 spent on storefront and façade improvements by local businesses up to a maximum matching contribution of $250.00 per participating business.  This will be a reimbursement program where eligible receipts will need to be submitted to the Helping Homedale Committee for review in order to receive the matching funds.  For example, Business X spends $500.00 on new signage for their business located on Idaho Avenue.  After submitting their receipts to the Helping Homedale Committee, they receive a reimbursement check for $250.00, the maximum match available.  However, if Business X only spends $300.00 on their new signage, they would only receive a check for $150.00, etc..

When does Helping Homedale kick-off?

The first annual Helping Homedale project will kick off June 1st, 2019 and run through August 31st, 2019.  Expenses eligible for reimbursement must be incurred during the program period.  It is possible the project will end sooner without notice if the $5,000 total earmarked for matching funds are exhausted prior to August 31st.  It is our hope that this will be an annual program.

Is this a Contest?

Yes!  Helping Homedale is a contest!  In order to participate in the contest you will need to submit before and after photos pertaining to the specific improvements you made when you submit receipts for reimbursement.  The Helping Homedale Committee will vote on one winner.  The winning business will receive one complimentary full-color advertisement in The Owyhee Avalanche after the conclusion of the contest period.

Where should I direct my questions regarding the program?

Please contact Gavin Parker, President of the Homedale Chamber of Commerce with any questions.  He can be reached at (208) 337-3271 or gsparker72@yahoo.com.

What is a Chamber of Commerce

Several years ago I was given the opportunity to partner with the City of Homedale and Homedale Chamber of Commerce to redesign their website and continue to build upon their online presence. During this process I have learned a lot about what our Chamber of Commerce does and what a great component it is to have in our small town. We are frequently asked “What is a Chamber of Commerce?”What exactly is a Chamber of Commerce?

The Chamber of Commerce is an organization of local businesses who meet regularly to discuss:

  • The interests of their businesses
  • Changing issues and trends of the local marketplace
& collaborate ideas centered upon advancing their community

Together these business owners, volunteers, and representatives, advocate on behalf of the community to promote and create positive change in the community’s economic environment and quality of life.

How does the Chamber of Commerce benefit myself and my community?

The Chamber of Commerce provides great community events such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Holiday Nightlight Parade.

In addition, the Chamber of Commerce is beneficial to members of the community because it provides a reliable network of business professionals that are committed to using good and fair business practices. These businesses are dedicated to making sure their products and services meet the needs of the community and set the standard as local industry leaders.

How can joining a Chamber of Commerce benefit my business?

There are several ways that joining the Chamber of Commerce can benefit your business:

  • Increase your company’s visibility by becoming part of a proactive network. There are member exclusive advertisement spaces  given to members on our city website and social media pages
  • The Chamber offers a monthly meeting where professionals can make business contacts and acquire referrals
  • Gain positive credibility in the community by attending meetings and help establish your business image and reputation
  • By working with local government you are given a platform to address issues that may impact your business
  • The Chamber provides an open forum to discuss challenges and problems to a group of professionals who can relate and offer strategies and suggestions to benefit your business

The Homedale Chamber serves the community in numerous ways and is poised to be a key contributor to Homedale’s future. Ideas or Questions? For further information Contact Us Today!
