SEPTEMBER EVENTS

Harvest season is bountiful across the fields of Owyhee County and it’s surrounding area. Corn, onions, potatoes, wheat, and hops are just a few of the crops that grow here in our valley. School is in full swing and echos from the announcers and cheers from cheerleaders will be heard this Friday night at our first home Varsity Football game. Lots to do and experience in our home town this month. Check it out!

Be sure to fill your tanks and get your hunting license at Matteson’s and grab some delicious home cooked breakfast at the Bowling Ally on your way.

Notice of Candidate Filing Deadline
The general election to be held in and for the City of Homedale, Idaho, will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. The election will be held for the purpose of electing the following offices for the specified terms:
Mayor – Four (4) years
Councilmember – Four (4) years
Councilmember – Four (4) years

The deadline for filing Declarations of Candidacy is Friday, September 8 at 5:00 pm. Declarations of Candidacy are available at City Hall in the office of the city clerk at 31 W. Wyoming Ave, Homedale from the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

September 4th is Labor Day


OWYHEE COUNTY JR RODEO

Entries must be submitted by September 11th.

Competition will be September 17th.

FOOTBALL, VOLLEYBALL, CROSS COUNTRY sports are in full swing! Check out a game and support local youth.

Schedules can be viewed at trojansports.net!
 
Homecoming will be the week of September 18th – September 23rd. The parade will be Wednesday the 20th line up will be at 2:50 PM. The Varsity Football game is the evening of the 22nd. The Homecoming Dance will be the evening of the 23rd.

AUGUST EVENTS

The city of Homedale is buzzing with activity this month! With much anticipation the Owyhee County Fair and Rodeo comes to town! Celebrating a century of fair and rodeo, this event will be one for the history books.

Children are enjoying the last weeks of summer vacation as school will be starting the end of the month.

â–º August 1st Sports Physicals

Sports Physicals will be held at Rehab Authority in Homedale August 1st from 4:00-6:00. They cost $20 and all proceeds are donated back to the High School. For additional information call: 208-337-3254


â–º ELEMENTARY REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Returning students grades 1-4 will register on Tuesday, August 1st from 9:00 am – 7:00 pm.

New-to-the-district and incoming Kindergarten students will register on Wednesday, August 2nd from 9:00 am – 7:00 pm.

Please bring the following: proof of residency in the Homedale School District, student’s birth certificate, current immunization record, and social security card. These items will be copied and returned to you at registration.

July Events

The sun has set on the last day of June in all it’s beautiful glory. A fisherman in his boat slowly drifts by in the setting sun. The occasional pop of early fireworks followed by children’s laughter can be heard along with the peaceful humming of crickets. The smell of freshly cut hay and fragrant mint fields fill the air. Summer.

Our beautiful city offers much to do this July. Starting things off with a bang is Independence Day.

â–º Tuesday, July 4th come join us at the annual Independence Day parade at 9:00 featuring the demolition derby cars and more! Then join the Lions Club in watching the annual Demolition Derby
